چکیده
One of the basic possibilities orientation in forest stands is use global navigation satellite systems (GNSS). Today, these are used for pedestrian and also off-road vehicle navigation. This article presents results research aimed at measuring quality GNSS signal different types coniferous deciduous vegetation purpose optimizing vehicles. To determine structure (density) stand, tachymetry was chosen as reference method. The Trimble Geo 7X cm edition device with Tornado antenna devices using real time VRS (virtual station) method to measure quality. recorded numbers satellites (GPS, GLONASS, Galileo BeiDou) during driving a terrain two locations. Significant presented include deviations positions determined by from tachymetrically precisely measured marked routes along which moving. authors focused on accuracy determining position GNNS, most commonly measurement confirmed assumption that positioning better than (spruce) or mixed vegetation. purposefully military vehicles, but achieved can be applied forestry, rescue other

RAVON — The Robust Autonomous Vehicle for Off-road Navigation
With the aim of developing a vehicle that can fully autonomously operate in highly vegetated terrain, the University of Kaiserslautern’s Robotics Research Lab is conducting research in the field of off-road robotics. Their platform RAVON is a 4WD vehicle equipped with a large number of different sensor systems, which are used as basis for the hazard detection. RAVON’s navigation system is three...
متن کاملA Reactive System For Off-Road Navigation
In this paper; we describe a core system for autonomous navigation in outdoor natural terrain. The system consists of three parts: a perception module which processes range images to identify untraversable regions of the terrain, a local map management module which maintains a representation of the environment in the vicinity of the vehicle, and a planning module which issues commands to the ve...
متن کاملTechniques for Autonomous, Off-Road Navigation
CONSIDER THE VARIETY OF IMprovements that autonomously navigating vehicles can bring to our future. Semiautomated traffic will dramatically increase throughput on existing highways, reducing our need for financially and environmentally expensive new roadways (as shown by the Nat’l Automated Highway Systems Consortium Demonstration ’97). The resulting reduction in commute time will mean a reduct...
متن کاملGNSS-aided INS for land vehicle positioning and navigation
This thesis begins with a survey of current state-of-the art in-car navigation sys-tems. The pros and cons of the four commonly used information sources –GNSS/RF-based positioning, vehicle motion sensors, vehicle models and map in-formation – are described. Common filters to combine the information from thevarious sources are discussed.Next, a GNSS-aided inertial navigation ...
متن کاملMonocular Camera/IMU/GNSS Integration for Ground Vehicle Navigation in Challenging GNSS Environments
Low-cost MEMS-based IMUs, video cameras and portable GNSS devices are commercially available for automotive applications and some manufacturers have already integrated such facilities into their vehicle systems. GNSS provides positioning, navigation and timing solutions to users worldwide. However, signal attenuation, reflections or blockages may give rise to positioning difficulties. As oppose...
